Roast beef is my go-to Thanksgiving dinner, as I don't like turkey. I was looking to exercise something a little different when I came across this recipe. Unremarkably I read through reviews before I'll endeavor something, specially when it's for a large family unit dinner. I decided to take the risk with this i. Admittedly LOVED It! Nosotros used a summit sirloin roast instead of a standing rib, just followed things pretty closely otherwise. The meat was tender, juicy, and very flavourful. The gravy I made with the drippings was amazing. Nosotros loved it so much that we will exist making it once again later this calendar week when we take different dinner guests.

Fantastic recipe - whenever I tell people I brine a rib roast they think I'one thousand crazy. Until they endeavour this. I unremarkably simply leave off the French Onion soup and sub Beef Broth.

Made exactly every bit written and season is outstanding! The simply change I made was to cooking fourth dimension. I found a fool-proof method that cooks information technology to a perfect medium rare center every fourth dimension. Pre-heat oven to 500 degrees. Roast in oven at this temp for v minutes per pound, then turn oven off, practice not open at all for 2 hours. No need to let it stand up before carving when you take information technology out because it's already stood the last fleck to return juices to the center.

I don't ever venture making a recipe with only 4 reviews, however I felt strongly that this was going to exist a good one and it wasn't complicated. I followed the recipe exactly and hoped for the best seeing it was for a Christmas Day dinner. I was not disappointed. It was delicious and got rave reviews. Definitely a keeper.

I made this for a 50th Birthday Party and it was absolutely delicious. I accept to say that I was concerned well-nigh brining such an excellent cut of meat in coffee only decided I would requite it a try and I'thousand then glad I did. I followed the directions to a "T" and the roast came out PERFECT - medium rare, then juicy, melt in your mouth tender and so flavorful. (There was no hint of coffee in the cooked meat so don't be concerned about brining the meat in coffee). Our guests loved it and raved nigh information technology all through dinner and ii friends asked me for the recipe so they could make it for two of their upcoming events. This recipe has been added to my "favorites" and volition now exist my "become to" recipe when planning a decadent, elaborate, fancy meal.

Amazing recipe! Merely thing I had to do is add 2c of water to,pan during terminal portion of cooking! Anybody raved about information technology and gravy was outstanding!! Also, had to cook longer..important to have meat thermometer!

Five star reviews e'er get my attention and I was intrigued seeing brewed coffee as one of the ingredients. I halved the recipe because my roast was only 3 to 4 lbs. I marinated information technology overnight and cooked it in a 375 oven until it registered medium well on the meat thermometer. I did non take time or patience to cook it per instructions provided, ie, turning the oven off for a period of time and and then turning information technology back on to finish cooking the meat. I let it rest for most 20 minutes before etching and omg, what a tender, flavourful roast! I'll definitely be keeping this marinade for future!!!

This is the outset prime number rib roast that I have e'er made. I decided to try it for Christmas and it turned out amazing. It was juicy and well seasoned. Information technology was but every bit good equally the beef in the major steak houses.

Used the brine recipe on a smaller and different cutting roast so I had to adjust the cooking method. Was very good. Also, I subbed just a heaping spoon of onion pulverisation for the soup, since it'due south something I don't purchase.

Didn't get to marinate as long every bit suggested just turned out cracking. My wife is not a big roast eater and she enjoyed information technology.

It was certainly tasty but too salty. " If" I were to make it again I would cut the table salt to 3/iv c. and only apply 1/2 of the dry onion soup mix and merely use some plainly dried onion.

This was excellent, and will exist the simply recipe I use from now on! I was humble with the corporeality of minced garlic called for just the seasoning is perfect. Not having any French Roast coffee on hand I used strong brewed medium roast java and information technology was superb; better than well-nigh eatery prime rib I've eaten! Having never made prime rib or rib roast, I followed the recipe exactly. I made a gravy out of a combo of the drippings and a bit of the alkali, which was amazing on the beefiness and accompanying potatoes. This is my new holiday specialty!

OMG... since trying this out terminal year...I only make roast beef this way... the brining is key... also Ive done it with Prime rib at Christmas... across delicious.. note though, I preheat the oven to 500F and melt information technology 20 min per pound... then Plow OFF the oven and DON'T open it until the correct temperature is reached. this can take a while but totally worth it. my guests were floored at how good information technology was...

We made for Christmas dinner (as described) and information technology was outstanding. No residual coffee flavor - the meat was tender and juicy and delicious. I was intrigued past the recipe since every review was a 5-star and am so glad we tried it! Highly recommend this recipe!

We loved it! Withal, I was thinking virtually irresolute the coffee part into something a picayune different this time, equally this is how I did it the first 3 times I fabricated it. Perchance I will experiment a little as tomorrow is the mean solar day before Easter. Perhaps some cooking sherry or wine?

I just roasted it in oven like a regular roast, at 350f. Very moist, dandy flavour!

Excellent. I used dry bulky onion soup mix, no java, less chopped onion. I did rinse meat earlier seasoning to melt. I heated onion from brine in a little olive oil in bottom of pan earlier adding rack to pan. I used a butter paste, with a few drops of olive oil and the seasons I like on meat (garlic and herb, greek flavor, onion powder, fresh thyme, rosemary etc) mixed in the paste, to rub meat down before cooking. I also cooked the 2nd time for 75 minutes considering we wanted it medium well. It was my 1st time preparing a dish I've wanted to cook for a long fourth dimension but needed a skillful recipe for tenderness and I'm glad I chose this 1.

I used this recipe for an 8 lb prime rib roast...it turned out pretty awesome, but we did demand to cook it quite a fleck longer at the end. Not sure if it was because it was prime rib (no bones) instead of standing rib. The taste was amazing!

OMG, this was SO adept. Did not taste the coffee at all and the meat had amazing flavor! I did melt it for 14 minutes at 500 and and then turned the oven off for 2 hours. I used a 2.5 lbs Eye Round roast which tin be tough considering it is very lean. Information technology was a little tougher but not and so much. Information technology came out pretty pink merely not pink enough for my married man and me. I think I volition melt it less next time(for this cut of meat). We volition be using this brine from now on as our go to!

Absolutely perfect! I had a prime number rib roast that had been the freezer for awhile. I was hoping that brining would bring dorsum the freshness and flavor. This one did it! I also used the instructions for cooking that was in these reviews. At 8lbs I put the roast on at 500° for xl-45mins and so turned the oven off and left it for 2hrs. It cooked to a perfect medium rare throughout. I made gravy from the drippings, and it was glorious! I'm making it once again this weekend.
